Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Residential Electrical Technician to join our team of Technicians. Are you an electrician who has experience with residential service calls consisting of troubleshooting, basic light and fan installation, service upgrades, and outlet replacements? Now is the time to join our team! This is a full-time, non-exempt level position reporting to the General Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Upgrades: Assisting with upgrades to electrical systems to enhance efficiency or accommodate new HVAC technology.
Installation: Installing electrical components and systems related to HVAC equipment, such as thermostats, wiring, and circuit breakers.
Repairs: Repairing or replacing faulty electrical components in HVAC units, ensuring compliance with safety standards and codes.
Troubleshooting: Diagnosing electrical issues in HVAC systems and determining the best solutions to resolve them.
Collaboration: Working closely with HVAC technicians to ensure proper integration of electrical and mechanical systems.
Documentation: Keeping accurate records of work performed, including repairs, installations, and maintenance activities.
Safety Compliance: Following all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for themselves and others.
Customer Interaction: Communicating with customers to explain issues, recommend solutions, and provide updates on work being performed.
Continuing Education: Staying current with industry trends, technologies, and regulations related to both electrical systems and HVAC systems.
Key Qualifications:
Electrical Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical systems, circuits, and components.
HVAC Systems Familiarity: Knowledge of HVAC equipment and how electrical systems integrate with mechanical systems.
Technical Proficiency: Competence in using electrical tools and diagnostic equipment.
Safety Awareness: Knowledge of electrical codes, safety practices, and regulations to ensure safe work environments.
Attention to Detail: Ability to follow precise instructions and specifications in installations and repairs.
Physical Stamina: Capability to handle physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces.
Work Conditions:
- Work independently with little supervision, and complete tasks and assignments.
- Work is performed in residential properties (attic, garage, crawl space, roof)
- Frequent standing, squatting, sitting for extended periods of time.
- Moderate exposure to physical risk.
- Occasionally required to ascend/descend ladders and balance.
