Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic
**Location:** Chicago, IL
**Shift:** Monday-Thursday, 5:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Overtime Available)
**Pay Rate:** $30 - $35 per hour (Depending on Experience)

Job Description:
A leading beauty product manufacturer is seeking skilled Maintenance Mechanics to join our team at our Chicago facility. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, operating, maintaining, and repairing complex processing and high-speed packaging machinery. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and adhering to safety standards in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair processing and high-speed packaging machinery (e.g., gearboxes, pumps, compressors, check weighers).
- Perform predictive and preventative maintenance activities using the CMMS system.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot A/C and D/C electrical equipment.
- Operate production equipment as part of troubleshooting and validating maintenance tasks.
- Collaborate with Engineering and other departments for equipment installation and problem resolution.
- Maintain inventory for spare parts and ensure clean, organized workspaces.
- Occasionally perform building maintenance tasks.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience OR a minimum of 3 years of related experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of troubleshooting, electrical, mechanical, pneumatics, hydraulics, and OSHA standards.
- Familiarity with food or pharmaceutical industry practices is preferred.
- Strong understanding of safety and cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) requirements.
- Bilingual is a plus.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong problem-solving and reasoning abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, safety rules, and maintenance instructions.
- Basic computer skills and experience with machine shop tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to train and mentor others.
- Proficiency with electrical test equipment and machine shop skills (drilling, tapping, welding).
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to perform basic math, including fractions, percentages, ratios, and measurements.
