Job Description

Operations & Technology (O&T) is a $1.5B operating cash flow ($2.0B FCF) division of NBCUniversal. The group functions as a global shared service within NBCUniversal performing critical functions including Media, Broadcast and Studio Operations & Production, Content Supply Chain, Information Technology and Engineering, as well as Cyber Security. The group operates from numerous locations around the world, including New York, New Jersey, Los Angeles, Denver, and London.

The Senior Accountant for Operations & Technology is an integral part of the Operations & Technology (O&T) controllership team that handles Capital for all lines of business. The role will be responsible for assisting with managing the accounting for over $4 billion of Fixed Assets and Software. The position will partner with Operations to ensure proper accounting on new capital projects, maintain and enhance asset controls, and ensure accurate accounting of assets over their life cycle.

Responsible for the coordination and/or preparation of timely and accurate monthly/quarterly/annual close deliverables.

Drive process improvements by leveraging technology and challenging current processes

Analyze and Review capital projects to ensure proper capitalization and categorization of in-service assets

Partner with Finance to understand the operational nature and verify necessary attributes of capital projects

Collaborate with Operations in physical inventories driven by internal and external clients

Improve and monitor key controls to ensure compliance with US GAAP and NBCUniversal Fixed Asset Policy

Assist in internal and external audits of the Company's assets and capital policies

Partner with Tax to ensure proper property tax accounting

Complete ad-hoc reporting, analysis, and other special projects as assigned

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

2+ years of relevant experience with Controllership and/or Accounting functions

Proficient with MS Office Suite products - particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word Desired

Desired Characteristics

Demonstrates problem-solving ability & able to identify issues and make recommendations with solutions

Ability to work and communicate effectively and consistently with all levels of finance, operations, and senior management

Demonstrates background and knowledge of US GAAP and SOX CPA a plus

Excellent time management and organizational skills, ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

Exceptional attention to detail and willingness to take initiative as a self-starter Team player who exhibits a positive and professional attitude

Experience with SAP/AOE/BPC or other financial systems preferred

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
