Description:
Our clients' Architecture group is looking for an Principal of IT Governance and Policy. This architecture group just fell under new leadership and they're looking for someone who can come in and setting up and leading Enterprise Technology Review Council. IT governance enables an organization to demonstrate measurable results against broader business strategies and goals. Additionally, the organization is responsible for meeting relevant legal and regulatory obligations. Additionally, a governance policy is a policy, charter, and/or procedure approved by a company's executive leadership that defines the roles and processes that the company's IT Governance body/committee will follow. This person will also be helping them to achieve ISO certification.

Role Summary:
The Principal, Enterprise Governance & Policy will be responsible for setting up and leading the Enterprise Technology Review Council. This role will be key in shaping and overseeing the governance structures that support enterprise-wide standardization, consistency, reuse, quality, and cost-effectiveness of IT solutions and investments.
Key Responsibilities:
Establish the Enterprise Technology Review Council: Define the structure, roles, and responsibilities of the governance council.
Policy Governance Management: Lead the creation, review, and maintenance of IT governance policies and frameworks to ensure they align with organizational objectives, compliance and industry standards.
Continuous Improvement: Work with Business Policy Analysts to regularly review and update governance policies and practices to reflect changes in technology, business operations, and regulatory environments.
Technology Standards: Lead the development and promotion of enterprise-wide IT and Security standards to enhance overall efficiency, security, and performance of the technologies.
Promote Reuse and Efficiency: Develop strategies and capabilities that facilitate the reuse of IT assets and promote efficiency across the organization.
Quality Assurance: Implement processes that ensure all IT solutions meet both functional and technical requirements, incorporating lifecycle management practices to maintain high-quality standards.
Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with other business units and IT leaders to ensure governance frameworks are understood and effectively implemented across the organization.
Communication: Responsible for developing a communication strategy to ensure that outcomes of the governance council decisions are communicated effectively.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience in IT governance, with a leadership role in establishing and managing governance frameworks in a large organization.
Strong understanding of IT standards, policies, and regulatory compliance relevant to the industry.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging and influencing executives and cross-functional teams.
Strategic thinking abilities, with a track record of implementing governance frameworks that drive organizational improvements.
Desired Skills:
Certifications related to IT governance, such as COBIT, ITIL, or CGEIT preferred.
Experience in managing policy governance in a complex enterprise environment.
Familiarity with the latest IT technologies and trends, particularly those relevant Healthcare industry.
