Description:
The ESG - Financial Reporting Team's goal is to implement internal controls, develop disclosures for required financial reporting, enhance processes, systems, and data quality for those ESG metrics expected to be included in financial filings. This person will be reporting directly to the Director of ESG Finance. The main objective of the role is to support ESG readiness work related to EU taxonomy and reporting. The Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) is a significant regulation in the EU that enhances and modernizes the rules around sustainability reporting for companies. It requires both EU and non-EU companies with substantial activities in the EU to file annual sustainability reports alongside their financial statements.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
o Help lead the development of an EU taxonomy and ensure compliance with EU regulations
o Provide education and build internal knowledge on ESG topics within the finance and ESG internal team at Cisco
o Collaborate with Deloitte and other external partners to support the international regulatory aspects
o Prioritize and manage the workload in alignment with ESG finance team
o Leverage your expertise in international ESG regulations and finance background to drive the company's sustainability reporting efforts
o Assist the company from voluntary to mandatory ESG disclosures, ensuring end-to-end alignment
o Review disclosures to ensure Cisco readiness and in accordance with Cisco policies
o Identify potential issues or roadblocks

Qualifications:
o Familiarity with financial reporting and a background in finance (ideally Big 4 experience)
o Strong knowledge of ESG topics and upcoming regulations (e.g., CSRD, ISSB)
o Ability to work cross-functionally and adapt quickly to different projects and tasks
o Willing to reprioritize and be flexible to changing priorities
o Self-starter, independent, agile, and able to take initiative
o Preferably based on the US East Coast to provide support during US business hours while maintaining contact with the European team
