The Principal Technical Program Manager role reports to the PMO Director and is an individual contributor role in a matrix structure.

Responsibilities

Do you have a passion for high scale services and working with some of Oracle's most critical customers? We are looking to hire a Principal Technical Program Manager for the Software Assurance program at Oracle.

The Software Assurance Principal Technical Project Manager will be responsible for managing large scale, global, big-impact programs, predominantly focusing on software assurance in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You will be the integration point for software development, software assurance, and cloud infrastructure teams. You will have technical skills to follow conversations around mobile app software development, operating systems or software development, and their intersection with software assurance needs. This role will be responsible to manage cross-functional teams, risks, issues, dependencies, and conflicting priorities to successful completion. The program is globally spread in a matrix organization and very fast paced, it's a dynamic environment and you will need to be able to adopt quickly.

You are self-motivated, technical-minded individual with a passion for getting things done. You are ambitious, yet humble - you realize there are always opportunities for improvement, you take on feedback from team members and introspect to raise the bar for yourself. You are comfortable with ambiguity, managing complex programs and making your team shine.

In this role you will work with a global team across multiple time zones in a fast-paced dynamic environment. You should have the ability to scale yourself and a strong desire to learn new things quickly.

For this role, it is required that you have a strong technical background. You will have demonstrated examples of working closely with technical and operational teams such as software developers, researchers, security analysts, SREs, Data scientists and mobile engineering teams, having a background in software assurance is highly desirable.

A strong drive, sense of ownership and ability to work autonomously is required. You will be expected to take complete ownership of your functional area and deliver quality end-to-end to committed timelines. You must have experience in a company working in the software development lifecycle, with new product development preferred.

You will manage the development and implementation process of a software assurance program involving departmental and cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing products. Plan and direct schedules and monitor budget/spending. Monitor the program from initiation through delivery. Organize the interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the program on schedule and within budget constraints.

Responsibilities

Work You'll Do

  • Manage complex global programs and projects end-to-end in a highly matrix organization, manage roadmap and deliver outcomes.
  • Plan, schedule, and manage the execution of project activities for the software assurance team.
  • Create iteration work plans with input from various technical teams, including operating system, system software and microservices, mobile, cloud applications and security teams.
  • Work with a diversified group of stakeholders and technical leads to identify, communicate, and mitigate project risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Track work progresses and create audience-appropriate status reporting.
  • Develop, and maintain agile board(s), Jira issues and Confluence pages.
  • Drive on-schedule project outcomes by focusing on deliverables using Gantt chart of similar tools, identifying dependencies and obstacles, and taking ownership to remove the impediments for the delivery teams.
  • Engage and communicate calmly and professionally with project team members and peers and lead using influence.


What You'll Bring

  • Bachelors or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cyber Security or related discipline.
  • The ideal candidate will have 10 years of overall experience in the software industry with at least 8 years as a program or senior project manager. You are good at project management of technical work in the areas of Operating Systems or Mobile applications or Security Research.
  • Ability to manage all phases of the software development life cycle.
  • Experience in managing cloud-based projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings, capture minutes and action items, and drive to-dos to completion.
  • Schedule awareness - ability to communicate priorities and sequence project work.
  • Ability to manage cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams in various time zones.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, MS Project, MS Project Plan Online


Nice to Have

  • Experience in managing software assurance projects.
  • Experience/background in security space, cloud applications
  • Working knowledge of scripting language for JIRA & Confluence automation would be a plus
  • Higher-level skills in project management tools using MS Project online would be a plus
  • PMP or other Project/Program Management industry certification(s).
  • Certified Scrum Master, Product Owner or other agile certification.
  • Cloud Certification(s) (OCI).

US: Hiring Range: from $87,800 to $199,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position.
