We are seeking a skilled COBOL Programmer to support our mainframe accounting system for in Philadelphia. This 6-month contract-to-hire position is ideal for individuals with experience in banking or financial services, though this is not a strict requirement. The successful candidate will work in a close-knit team environment, where they will have the opportunity for mentorship and professional growth.

In this role, the COBOL Programmer will be responsible for designing and coding new applications, as well as maintaining existing systems to meet the needs of the asset management group. Collaboration with Quality Engineers and business resources is crucial to ensure that tests are designed and executed effectively, achieving outcomes that align with expectations. The programmer will also deploy solutions following established Change Management guidelines and actively participate in Agile ceremonies, contributing to team discussions and project planning. Additionally, the candidate must be available for bi-monthly 24/7 on-call support rotation, adhering to Application Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to maintain operational continuity.

The ideal candidate will possess mainframe development experience in COBOL (both batch and online) and proficiency in Job Control Language (JCL). Familiarity with mainframe SAS/report writing, Agile and DevOps methodologies, and knowledge of DB2, MQ Series, Endevor, ServiceNow, and File-AID are considered a plus. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, along with the ability to work independently and a high attention to detail. A preferred bachelor's degree in a technical field or relevant work experience is desired, with certifications being a plus.
