Job Summary

Are you ready to lead and make a lasting impact in advancing aircraft capabilities? We are seeking a Senior Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Lead to spearhead innovative approaches in system design, requirements analysis, and digital engineering for Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) programs. In this senior role, you will drive high-level MBSE efforts, applying your deep expertise to deliver cutting-edge solutions that enhance aircraft engineering, sustainment, and modernization initiatives. You'll collaborate closely with a diverse team, fostering innovation, disciplined problem solving, and excellence every step of the way. If you're a strategic leader with a passion for advancing digital engineering and modeling practices, we invite you to apply and be a key part of shaping the future of AFLCMC programs.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead MBSE initiatives to conduct requirements analysis, system design, performance analysis, and trade studies. Ensure robust integration, verification, validation, and interface definition for subsystems and system elements.
  • Apply expert-level knowledge of aircraft engineering, modification, and sustainment to plan and execute comprehensive system models that support systems engineering and program documentation.
  • Partner with government stakeholders to optimize and automate documentation processes through advanced system modeling and digital technologies, driving efficiency and innovation.
  • Analyze and refine existing system requirements documentation, such as Capabilities Development Documents and System Requirements Documents, to ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Oversee the modification and updating of system models to align with evolving acquisition strategies, technical designs, and program decisions.
  • Define and develop system use cases, activities, and system behaviors within an MBSE framework.
  • Deliver MBSE models that serve as key supplements to programmatic documentation, including the Acquisition Strategy Plan, Statement of Work, Systems Engineering Plan, and Test and Evaluation Master Plan.
  • Lead the development of system CONOPS, architectures, and interface definitions for complex systems in a model-based environment.
  • Drive the transition from traditional document-based systems engineering to a reusable, model-based approach, ensuring smooth integration and delivery of model-based artifacts.
  • Manage models and work products in compliance with project configuration, data management processes, and standards.
  • Conduct formal reviews and walkthroughs of system requirements and architecture models, applying SysML and MBSE methodologies.
  • Perform detailed technical analyses for subsystem and system elements, ensuring alignment with project objectives and constraints.
  • Collaborate closely with systems engineering leads and subject matter experts (SMEs) to tailor MBSE solutions to project scope, cost, and schedule considerations.
  • Facilitate the transformation of traditional system engineering documentation into model-based work products, generating acquisition documentation that meets customer requirements.

Basic Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering discipline and 12 years of proven experience leading MBSE efforts and system modeling in a senior capacity. Extensive expertise with SysML and MBSE tools, such as Cameo System Modeler.
  • Deep understanding of aircraft engineering, system sustainment, and digital engineering methodologies.
  • Strong ability to collaborate with diverse teams, including government stakeholders and technical experts, to streamline processes and deliver innovative solutions.
  • DoD Clearance Requirement: Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree preferred
  • OCSMP-MBF Certification (Object Management Group - Certified Systems Modeling Professional - Model Builder - Fundamental) or the ability to obtain it within 12 months of employment.
  • DoD weapon systems engineering and acquisition experience
