The Work
The Radar Modeling and Simulation team within Rotary & Mission Systems (RMS) is seeking a Software Engineer to support the design, development, integration, and verification of high performance radar modeling and simulation systems. The successful candidate will have strong analytic and communication skills, and work well in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment.

The Software Engineer working on the Radar Modeling and Simulation team will:
Perform in an agile fast paced environment applying advanced technologies, software architecture, design, verification, validation, scientific principles, and concepts to develop revolutionary radar modeling and simulation products
Participate in the entire software development process to deploy and maintain critical radar modeling and simulation software products including digital twins
Participate on an agile scrum team to design, implement, integrate and test Hi-Fidelity and Lo-Fidelity radar software models to assess radar system performance
Participate in agile scrum team activities to include a daily scrum, sprint planning, demonstrations, retrospectives and process improvements.
Develop high quality solutions with a strong commitment to applying best software and system engineering practices
Conduct system verification and support model certification activities
Represent and interface with internal and external customers and government lab partners
Providing Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline assistance, tooling expertise, and direction
Automating repeatable tasks through the use of scripting languages and development of automated regression tests and unit tests

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, Physics or related STEM degree with minimum 2 years related experience.

Proficiency in C++ or equivalent object-oriented programming language, Matlab, and, scripting languages.

Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: systems engineering, software engineering and system analysis, requirements development, verification and validation, trade studies, modeling and simulation, or integration and test.

Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD security clearance at the SECRET level. U.S. Citizenship required.

Desired skills

Advanced degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or equivalent.

Strong mathematics background in linear algebra, statistical analysis and signal processing.

Functional knowledge of Radar systems, subsystems and designs with familiarity of design tools for radar modeling.

Radar systems development experience including algorithms, software, data analysis, and modeling and simulation.

Demonstrated analytical, applied mathematics and problem-solving skills.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Active DoD Secret level clearance or higher.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed.
